FAQs
What is a concealed carry permit, and why do I need one?
A concealed carry permit legally allows you to carry a hidden firearm in public. In our classes, we’ll cover all relevant laws in North Carolina and South Carolina, ensuring you fully understand your rights and responsibilities. In North Carolina, this permit is known as a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP), while in South Carolina, it’s called a Concealed Weapon Permit (CWP).
Who is eligible to take a concealed carry class?
To enroll in a concealed carry class in North Carolina, you must be at least 21 years old, have no felony convictions, and be a legal resident of the state. In South Carolina, you can enroll at 18 years old, as long as you have no felony convictions and are a legal resident. South Carolina also allows non-residents to obtain a Concealed Weapon Permit (CWP) if they own property in the state.
What will I learn in the concealed carry class?
Our comprehensive classes are designed to provide a thorough education on all aspects of concealed carry, with a strong emphasis on firearm safety. You'll learn how to develop a personal and home protection plan tailored to your needs, as well as the fundamentals of self-defense and the safe operation of firearms. We cover everything from the basics of shooting to advanced techniques, ensuring you understand the critical elements of firearm handling, including proper grip, stance, and trigger control.
Safety is our top priority, and our classes delve deep into the legal use of force, helping you navigate the complexities of self-defense laws in your state. We also explore how to effectively manage violent encounters and the psychological and physical effects that may follow. In addition, we discuss the importance of selecting the right gear and gadgets to enhance your safety and performance.
Beyond the classroom, you'll participate in live-fire training at a shooting range, where you'll apply what you've learned in a controlled, safe environment. This hands-on experience is essential for building confidence and competence with your firearm, reinforcing the safety practices that are at the core of our training.

North Carolina: 8 hours of classroom instruction + 1 hour of live-fire training
South Carolina: 4-6 hours of classroom instruction + 1 hour of live-fire training
Do I need to own a gun to take the class?

What should I bring to the class?
Bring a government-issued photo ID, any required paperwork, and wear appropriate clothing for range practice.
